Sapa tour by train
NIGHT 1: Hanoi - Sapa By Train
20:30 Our car will pick you up at your hotel in Ha Noi old town then transfer to Ha Noi Train Station. You make procedures to board the night train to Lao Cai, over night on board with standard 4-person compartment, wood paneling, air conditioning.
DAY 1: Sapa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Sapa (B/L/D)
05:30 - 6:00 Arrival at Lao Cai Train Station. Our tour guide will welcome you and being transferred to Sapa by a shared bus. The ride uphill to Sapa takes a little over an hour and will give you a first glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces.
On arrival at the hotel in Sapa, enjoy an early check-in if the room is available, otherwise in the interim, you will have access to a basic room for refreshment before having breakfast.
09:30 Start the day with 6km of walking down to the Southeast of Sapa along Muong Hoa Valley to Y Linh Ho village, the home of the Black H’mong. Then, you will continue walking for another 3km down to Lao Chai village. Stop at the village for lunch. After lunch, continue trekking through the rice terraces to Ta Van village of the Tay minority. This trek is relatively easy although the trail can be quite slippery if it rains. For that reason, good footwear is recommended.
15:00 Return to Sapa by shared bus and check into the hotel. You will then have free time to explore Sapa town, especially its market with all the colorful handicrafts. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Sapa Town.

DAY 2: Cat Cat Village - Fansifan (B/L/D)
After breakfast around 08.00am, Start hiking downhill to Cat Cat village at the bottom of Muong Hoa Valley. Enjoy the spectacular views of the beautiful valley towards Fansipan – the highest peak in Vietnam and Indochina. Upon arrival at the village, you will have a chance to visit the Black H’mong’s traditional stilt houses as well as watch people weaving, embroidering, and drying their clothes, etc. Then, keep walking to visit the dramatic and picturesque Cat Cat Waterfall, which is a great spot for photo-shoots.. Enjoy your lunch and the mountainous scenery.
In the afternoon: Enjoy free time for the rest of the day to discover Sapa town by yourself or choosing more tour to conquer Fansifan peak 3.143m high by cable car. You will pay extra for cable car fare and transportation fee to the base of Mount Fansifan to get on the cable car to the top of the mountain.
Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

You will pay extra for cable car fare and transportation fee to the base of Mount Fansifan to get on the cable car to the top of the mountain.

DAY 3: Sapa - Ma Tra - Ta Phin - Sapa (B/L)
After breakfast around 8am, get on the bus and travel 5km by jeep to visit the red Dzao tribes people in Ma Tra villages. There you will start a 9km trek through the local village precinct, and enjoy the stunning rice and corn field vista’s along the way. A picnic lunch is a highlight en –route. Later, continue your trek to Ta Phin village, where we have a first-hand opportunity to observe the living conditions and daily habits, as well as gain an insight into the history, lifestyle and customs of the red Dzao minority group. These are unique opportunities not to be missed!
After visiting a family in the village, we walk to the main road and meet up with our driver, who will return us to Sapa town. You will still have time to explore the people and town area more before being transferred to Lao Cai Train Station.
17:30 The bus will pick you up at hotel then transfer to Lao Cai Train Station.
Have dinner in Lao Cai town before checking in to the night train back to Hanoi (Dinner fee pay by yourseft). Over night on board with standard 4-person compartment, wood paneling, air conditioning.
Early the next morning. Train comming to Hanoi station.
End of tours!
After visiting a family in the village, we walk to the main road and meet up with our driver, who will return us to Sapa town. You will still have time to explore the people and town area more before being transferred to Lao Cai Train Station.
17:30 The bus will pick you up at hotel then transfer to Lao Cai Train Station.
Have dinner in Lao Cai town before checking in to the night train back to Hanoi (Dinner fee pay by yourseft). Over night on board with standard 4-person compartment, wood paneling, air conditioning.
Early the next morning. Train comming to Hanoi station.
End of tours!

- Old people should not attend the long trek (9 kms) due to its challenge and danger in case of rain.
- Handicapped people and children under 6 years old should not attend this tour.
- Homestay is totally different from hotel due to its basic and simple facilities.
- Warm clothes, scarf, hat, cap because the weather in Sapa is pretty unpredictable. It is normally cold in September, October, November, December, January, February and March
- Due to altitude of Sapa, it is sometimes foggy in December, January, February and March.
- Trekking shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, insect repellent are also necessary. You should take cash with you in Vietnam Dong because banking system in Sapa sometimes doesn’t function well. US Dollar, Euro, Australia Dollar are accepted in Sapa.
